We had a great day on Thursday celebrating Flag Day. The children wore in their national dress, army wear, or beautiful clothes in the UAE colours. We sang the national anthem while the flag was being raised, and then had a party. Some children brought in gifts and treats to share with the class. We also celebrated Ahmed's birthday.

We had a very busy week this week in KG1B. We spent a lot of time doing assessments as we are approaching the end of the first quarter. The children are working hard to write their names, and we did a lot of work with shapes this week. Have a look at our pictures to see what we got up to this week. I also took the children to the computer lab to practice using the mouse. We finished the week with a birthday celebration for Maram :)
Yesterday we went on our first school trip to Jump World in Sharjah. The children had a fantastic time playing in the ball pit, and jumping on the trampolines. They were excellently behaved, and had a great day. Have a look at the photos below to see what we got up to :)

This week we read the story of the 'Gingerbread Man', and designed our own exercise class to allow the animals and old man and woman to get fit and catch him. The children practised doing lots of exercise, and then gave their own ideas of how we can stay fit and healthy. Have a look at some of our pictures!
We've finished our first month in KG1. The children are doing great, and we are continuing to learn all about healthy habits and keeping our bodies healthy. This week we created our own restaurant in the class - the KG1B Healthy food restaurant. We designed menus for this restaurant, and hunted for healthy foods around our classroom to play with. We also showed each other what healthy foods we eat in the canteen. We also played with KG2B during play time.
We had a fantastic time this week learning all about healthy and unhealthy foods. Some parents kindly sent in lots of fruit and vegetables to be shared among the children, and the children loved talking about their favourite types of fruit and vegetables. The children also began getting into good habits with healthy lunches. We did some exercises to make sure we were having a balance between work and play. Have a look at some of our pictures from this week below :)
