Today all the students in KG 1 and KG 2 had a special performance to honour their moms. We made Mother's Day cards, and sang some songs to show our moms how much we love them. We did Kg1B proud :) Happy holidays everyone and see you in April!

We continued using materials to build towers towards the end of this week, and began to test the properties of materials, in particular if they were waterproof. We loved playing with the water, and testing if our predictions were right!
We've had a really busy few days in Kg1B, exploring and learning all about the properties of various materials. We had great fun using magnets to check whether things in our classroom were magnetic or not, and also building towers using materials of our choice. Have a look at us during our inquiry below!
''This week we continued to spend time exploring different materials in class, and we did a really fun (but messy!!!!!) activity where we used different materials and paint to print lovely pictures. They all turned out fabulous!! We also spent some time in the KG garden planting lovely flowers to commemorate and celebrate Sheikh Zayed. These flowers were bought using money the children brought in and donated. Finally, we got a new toy for play time in KG 1B - a large sand tray I filled with rice. The children had lots of fun getting stuck in to playing with the 'messy table'. Well done to all on a great week's work! :)
This week we moved on to explore a new unit - How the World Works. We began to explore materials and their properties - using our sense of touch to explore the texture of different materials and drawing about what we felt. We pointed out various materials in our classroom e.g. the wooden desks, our wooden kitchen, the fabric dressing up clothes. We also listened to some lovely stories - Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and the story of the Three Little Sheep, and we used art materials to create our own houses for the little sheep.
